Competitions for our 2024 show

22nd and 23rd of June 2024

Below are our competitions and rules for each.

understand to enter into a competition you:

MUST be working at York tattoo convention for the 2024 show.

MUST apply accepting the rules.

Must understand if you do not follow the guidelines you will be disqualified.

Saturday 22nd:

Healed colour:

All styles allowed

Must be 100% healed (no fresh touch ups).

The tattoo must be a maximum of 4 years old.

Healed Black and Greyshade:

Black and greyshade ONLY.

A small amount of white highlight is allowed.

NO colour.

NO opaques.

Must be 100% healed (no fresh touch ups).

The tattoo must be a maximum of 4 years old.

Small Colour:

MUST be smaller than A5 paper size.

Any style permitted.

Must be stared and finished at the convention.

Small black and Greyshade:

MUST be smaller than A5 paper size.

Any style permitted.

Must be stared and finished at the convention.

Black and Greyshade ONLY.

A small amount of white highlight is allowed.

NO colour.

NO opaques. 

Manga and Anime:

Animation, Cartoon, Comic, Manga, Gaming, Disney, ect.

Any style permitted.

Must be stared and finished at the convention.

Traditional:

Old school, Traditional.

Can include colour.

Can include blackwork.

Must be started and finished at the convention.

Nordic:

Must have Viking, Nordic elements, Celtic knotwork, or runes.

Colour or black and grey allowed.

Ornimental:

Geormetric, Shape, Tribal, Mandala, Pattern, Dotwork, Blackwork.

Must be started and finished at the convention.

Sunday 23rd:

Large Colour:

Larger than A5 paper size.

Any styles Permitted.

Must be started and finished at the convention.

Large Black and Greyshade:

Larger than A5 paper size.

Black and greyshade ONLY.

A small amount of white highlight is allowed.

NO colour.

NO opaques.

Must be started and finished at the convention.

Avant Garde:

Collage, abstract, mash up styles.

Black and Grey or Colour.

MUST be started and finished at the convention.

Oriental:

Designs of East Asian Origin.

Traditional or modern allowed.

MUST be started and finished at the convention.

Realism:

Realism and portraits ONLY.

No avant garde elements allowed.

Collage or small accompanying scenes are allowed but MUST all be realism.

MUST be started and finished at the convention.

Best of Weekend:

Will be decided between all first place winners of other Categories ONLY.

NOT including first place winners of healed categories.

MUST be started and finished at the convention.
